A generation is creating a new video from a prompt, and it never uses an export. An export is a finished, clean video. Pro and Business include a set number of exports each month, and unused exports do not roll over.

Switching between Pro and Business takes effect immediately, with proration. Cancelling stops new exports straight away, but every exported video and every existing video keeps working.
